What is MBBS Course?

The full form of MBBS is Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. It is a 5 ½ year undergraduate medical course. MBBS course is a professional degree, which is necessary to become a doctor, diagnose diseases, prescribe medicines and perform surgeries.

Eligibility Criteria to do MBBS Course

Minimum Qualification To do MBBS, you must have passed 12th class with Science subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology from any recognized board.
Some institutes may also keep the demand of minimum 50% marks in 12th class.

Age Limit

The minimum age of the candidates should be 17 years
The maximum age should be 25 years to take admission in MBBS.

Admission Process of MBBS Course

To take admission to MBBS, first of all, pass 12th in science subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. After the 12th, you have to clear the medical entrance exam to get admission to medical college, and admission in most government and private medical colleges in India is done on the basis of NEET i.e. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Rank which is National Level National Testing taken by the agency.

After clearing the medical entrance exam, you can apply to enrol for MBBS Course in various government and private medical colleges according to your rank and your preference.

Some states take their own entrance exams separately to give admission to their different colleges.
