Eligibility for Ph.D. Programme

Candidates should have a Master's degree or a professional degree in the same or affiliated subjects (M.Tech./ll.m./m.d./m.s. degree), which has at least 55% marks. Or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution recognized by an assessment and accreditation agency is established or incorporated under a law in your country or approved by any other statutory authority in your country for the purpose or assessment, recognition or assurance of the quality and standards of educational institutions.

A relaxation of 5% in marks is allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PWD and other categories, from 55% to 50% or equivalent grade will be relaxed. The qualifying mark is 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale following the grading system) and a relaxation of 5% for the above mentioned categories is permissible without involving the grace mark procedures on the basis of qualifying marks only.

Ph.D. Admission Process

There are two types of admission process in PhD, first on the basis of entrance exam and second on the basis of interview.

PhD. Candidates will be admitted through a two stage process: Entrance Test to be conducted once a year. In the Departments/Centres offering the programme, the Ph.D. This entrance exam and program will be normal. One interview in a year.

Entrance Exam for Ph.D.

The program will be conducted once a year and the eligibility of the shortlisted candidates will be valid till the conduct of the next entrance test.

Interviews for admission to Ph.D

The program may be conducted twice or more in a year, subject to the availability of vacant seats as decided by the department. Candidates who have not registered earlier but wish to participate in the second (or more) round of interview will have to register on the online portal within the prescribed time limit mentioned on the admission portal.

Exemption from Entrance Examination

Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)UGC-CSIR NET (including JRFY/DBT-JRF/ICMR-JRF/DST-INSPIRE/AYUSH-NET or equivalent national level examination/fellowship (as identified by DRC)/GATE/teacher fellowship holder can directly appear for interview.
